• They either get a free  "company" website or they pay a monthly fee for that web site

1. The sites that you get from your typical network marketing company are called "replicating" web sites.  They are called "replicating" because there are hundreds and most times thousands of them.  "Cookie cutter" would be a better term to describe them.  Because they're not unique most of the big search engines will refuse to place them where they can get free traffic.  This means that you will be forced to always have to pay for your visitors.  This can become expensive.
   
   
    
2. Those sites are typically terrible marketing tools.  They're not unique so they fail to impress your visitors that you're the person to see about legal services, weight loss, identity theft protection, better health and wellness, etc...
   
   
    
3. Most importantly, they do nothing to generate leads for you and your business.  This should be the primary goal of you internet marketing dollar.  You want leads !!!
